Quick answer

Open your Business Profile (search your business name on Google while signed in, or open it in the Google Maps app), tap Ask for reviews or Get more reviews, and copy the short link (it usually looks like `g.page/r/…/review`). That link opens the "write a review" box directly. Share it on WhatsApp after a visit, print it as a QR code at your counter, and add it to bills and email signatures.

Customers are happy to leave a review — but only if it takes seconds. The biggest barrier is finding where to click. A direct review link removes that barrier.

  1. Open the Google Maps app signed in with the account that manages your business.
  2. Tap your profile picture → Your Business Profile (or search your business name).
  3. Tap Ask for reviews / Get more reviews.
  4. Tap Copy link or Share.
  1. Search your exact business name on Google while signed in.
  2. In the management panel that appears, choose Ask for reviews / Get more reviews.
  3. Copy the link.

Or open business.google.com, select your business and find the same option.

Test it

Open the link in a private/incognito window on a phone. It should open your business with the review box ready. If it opens the wrong business, you have a duplicate listing — fix that first.

Ways to share it (and what to say)

WhatsApp (best for service businesses)

Send one message after the job or purchase:

  • English: "Thank you for choosing [Business]! If you have 30 seconds, we'd really value your honest review on Google: [link] 🙏"

Our free review request message generator builds these with your business name and link.

QR code at the counter

Turn the link into a QR with our free Google review QR code generator and follow the QR poster guide.

Bills, invoices and receipts

Print a small QR and the line "Rate us on Google" on every bill.

SMS

Shorter version: "Thanks for visiting [Business]! Review us on Google: [link]"

Email signature and website

Add "⭐ Review us on Google" with the link to your email signature and website footer.

Do's and don'ts

Do: ask every customer; send one message; use their language; thank them in your reply.

Don't: offer anything in return; ask for "5 stars"; send repeated reminders; ask only happy customers; put a review tablet in the shop.

Frequently asked questions

You don't need one — Google gives you the link directly in your Business Profile. Generators that ask for your Place ID produce a similar link, but the official short link is simplest.

The official short link normally keeps working. If you see it change in your dashboard, use the new one and update your QR codes.

Can customers review without a Google account?

No. They need to be signed in to a Google account — most Android users already are.

Every genuine customer, once. A steady flow of reviews every week is better than a big burst.
