How to Share Your Business's Google Maps Location Link on WhatsApp, Instagram, Cards and Invitations

Customers keep asking "send location" or getting lost. Learn how to copy your business's Google Maps link (not just a pin), share it on WhatsApp, put it in your Instagram bio, print it as a QR code on visiting cards, bills and wedding or event invitations, add it to your website, and avoid common mistakes like sharing your live location or a random dropped pin.

Quick answer

Open your business in Google Maps (search your exact name), tap "Share", and copy the link. This opens your profile with your name, photos, reviews and the Directions button — much better than sharing a dropped pin or your live location. Save the link in WhatsApp Business quick replies (for example "/location"), put it in your Instagram bio and website, print a QR code from it on visiting cards, bills and posters, and test it on another phone. Never share "live location" for your shop; it shows where your phone is, not where your shop is.

Quick answer: Open your business in Google Maps (search your exact name), tap "Share", and copy the link.

"Bhaiya, location bhejo" is one of the most common messages a local business receives. A proper link saves time, prevents customers getting lost and quietly sends them to your Google profile, where they see your reviews.

  • Profile link (best): opens your business listing with name, address, photos, reviews, hours and directions.
  • Dropped pin: a point on the map with coordinates only. Customers don't see your name or reviews, and the pin may be slightly off.
  • Live location: shows where your phone is right now. Useless if you send it from home, and a privacy risk.

Always share the profile link.

On Android or iPhone

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search your exact business name.
  3. Tap your listing.
  4. Tap "Share".
  5. Choose "Copy link" or share directly to WhatsApp.

On a computer

  1. Search your business name on Google Maps.
  2. Click your listing and then "Share".
  3. Copy the link.

The link usually looks like a short maps.app.goo.gl address.

Save it in WhatsApp Business

Create a quick reply so any staff member can send it instantly:

  1. WhatsApp Business → Business tools → Quick replies.
  2. Add a shortcut like "/location".
  3. Message: "Here's our location on Google Maps: [link]. We're opposite City Bank, first floor. Open 10 am–9 pm."

Include a landmark and the floor, because the last 50 metres are where people get lost (WhatsApp for local business, hidden shops).

Instagram, Facebook and website

QR codes for print

Turn your link into a QR code and print it on:

Label it clearly: "Scan for directions". Keep a separate QR code for reviews (QR code ideas).

Wedding, event and opening invitations

Halls, banquet venues, caterers and families often print location links on invitations. Venues should send their profile link to every client so guests don't search and end up at a similarly named hall. Add a short landmark line and parking information (parking complaints).

Delivery riders and couriers

Give riders your profile link plus entrance instructions. If customers share wrong locations for deliveries, see customer shared wrong location.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing a pin dropped from memory, slightly off your entrance.
  • Sharing live location from home.
  • Using a link to an old or duplicate listing (duplicate listings).
  • Long links copied from the browser with search terms in them.
  • Not testing the link on another phone.

Make sure the pin itself is right

If your link opens the right listing but directions end at the wrong gate, fix your pin on your profile (fix wrong map pin, directions wrong).

Plus Codes for unclear addresses

In villages, new layouts or large campuses, add your Plus Code alongside the link so delivery riders and visitors can find the exact spot (Plus Codes).

Track how often people ask

If staff send the location link many times a day, that's a sign customers struggle to find you. Add directions and landmark photos to your profile, and consider a clearer signboard (signboard and Street View).

Example: a diagnostic centre

A diagnostic centre's staff typed directions by hand for every patient. After saving a "/location" quick reply with the profile link, a landmark and parking details, replies took seconds and fewer patients called from the road asking for directions.

Example: a banquet hall

A banquet hall printed a QR for its Google profile on a card given to every booking family to include in invitations. Guests stopped arriving at a similarly named hall across town, and the hall gained reviews from guests who found it easily.

Checklist

  • Copy your profile link from Google Maps "Share"
  • Save a WhatsApp quick reply with link and landmark
  • Add the link to Instagram, Facebook and website
  • Print a QR on cards, bills and pamphlets
  • Never share live location for the shop
  • Test on another phone

Key takeaways

  • Share your profile link, not a pin or live location.
  • A saved quick reply with a landmark saves time every day.
  • QR codes on print turn every card and bill into directions.
