What to do when your Google Business Profile verification code doesn't arrive — wrong number, DND, spam folders, postcard delays — plus how to request a new code or switch to video verification.

SMS or phone call code
- Wrong number: edit the phone on the profile, then request again.
- DND / spam blocking: some phones and operators filter automated messages. Check your SMS spam/promotions folder; temporarily allow unknown senders.
- Landline vs mobile: SMS needs a mobile; landlines need the call option.
- Network delay: wait 10–15 minutes before requesting again. Repeated requests can be rate-limited.
- Dual-SIM: confirm which SIM has the number.
Email code
- Check spam, promotions and updates tabs.
- Make sure the email shown is one you can access (often a domain email at your website).
- Search your inbox for "Google Business".
Postcard (less common now)
- Delivery can take up to a couple of weeks in India.
- Make sure the address is complete with shop number and pincode — incomplete addresses often fail.
- Don't edit name, address or category while waiting; that can invalidate the code.
- After the waiting period, request a new postcard.
