What Staff Should Say to Ask for Google Reviews — Counter Scripts for Shops, Clinics, Salons and Services (English & Hindi)

Short, natural scripts your staff can say at the billing counter, after a haircut, consultation, delivery or repair to ask for Google reviews — plus how to train staff and what never to say.

Quick answer

The best ask is short, honest and timed right: when the customer is happy and the job is done. "If you liked our service, could you leave a quick review on Google? Just scan this — it takes 30 seconds and really helps us." Then stop — no pressure, no rewards, no "please give 5 stars". Train every staff member to say it the same way to every customer.

Posters work, but a human ask works far better. These scripts make it easy and natural for staff.

The 3-part script

  1. Connect: "I hope you liked [the food/the haircut/the repair]."
  2. Ask: "Could you share a quick review on Google?"
  3. Make it easy: "Just scan this QR — it takes 30 seconds."

Scripts by situation

Billing counter (shop/restaurant): "Thank you for coming! If you enjoyed it, could you leave a quick Google review? Just scan this code — it really helps a small business like ours."

Salon: "You look great! If you're happy with your [service], would you mind sharing a quick review on Google? The QR is right here at the mirror."

Clinic reception (after the visit): "Thank you for visiting today. If you'd like to share your experience, you can leave a review on Google using this card — only if you're comfortable."

Home service / repair (after the job): "Everything's working now. I'll send you a WhatsApp with our review link — if you're happy, a short Google review helps us a lot."

Delivery: "Here's your order! There's a QR on the box if you'd like to rate us on Google."

Coaching (parents): "Thank you for trusting us with [student]. If you're happy with the progress, a Google review helps other parents find us."

Hindi scripts

Never say

  • "Please give us 5 stars."
  • "Write a review and get 10% off / free dessert."
  • "Write that our [product] is the best in [city]."
  • "Can you write it now on our phone?"

These break Google's policies or trigger review filters. See review policy.

Training staff in 10 minutes

  1. Read the script together; let each person say it once.
  2. Show where the QR is and how scanning works.
  3. Agree: ask every customer at the right moment.
  4. Track weekly new reviews and thank the team when it rises.

Frequently asked questions

Can staff get a bonus for more reviews?

Rewarding staff for asking politely is a business decision; rewarding customers for reviews is not allowed. Never pressure customers or write reviews themselves.

What if a customer says no?

Smile and thank them. Never push.

Should staff mention their own name?

It's natural for customers to mention helpful staff; don't ask them to.
