How to Remove Photos From Your Google Maps Listing (Your Own and Customer Photos)

Delete photos you uploaded, report inappropriate customer photos, deal with unflattering or old images, and push better photos to the top of your Google Business Profile.

Quick answer

Photos you uploaded can be deleted from your Business Profile (Photos → select photo → Delete). Photos customers uploaded can't be deleted by you, but you can report them if they break policy (off-topic, inappropriate, private information, low quality, or not of your business). For photos that are simply unflattering or outdated, the practical fix is uploading many better, recent photos so they appear first.

Quick answer: Photos you uploaded can be deleted from your Business Profile (Photos → select photo → Delete). Photos customers uploaded can't be deleted by you, but you can report them if they break policy (off-topic, inappropriate, private information, low quality, or not of your business). For photos that are simply unflattering or outdated, the practical fix is uploading many better, recent photos so they appear first.

Delete photos you uploaded

  1. Open your Business Profile → Photos (or Edit profile → Photos).
  2. Choose the By owner tab.
  3. Open the photo → Delete (trash icon).

Removal can take a short while to reflect everywhere.

Report a customer photo

  1. Open the photo on your listing in Google Maps.
  2. Tap ⋮ or the flag icon → Report.
  3. Pick the reason: off-topic, inappropriate, privacy, low quality, not this place, etc.

Google reviews reports; genuine customer photos of your business usually stay even if you don't like them.

Common situations

  • Old shop front after renovation: upload new storefront photos and set a new cover.
  • Photo of a different business: report as "not this place".
  • Staff or customers' faces without consent / children: report for privacy.
  • Photos with personal info (bills, phone screens): report for privacy.
  • Competitor posted fake photos: report and keep evidence.

Push better photos to the top

Upload 2–4 high-quality photos weekly: products, interior, team. Customers' and Google's choices follow what's best and most recent. See the photo shot list.
