Quick answer
A practical workflow for Indian small businesses to manage recurring marketing work with clear ownership, checks, and realistic limits.
Set the scope honestly
This is a 30-minute operational check, not a full SEO audit, ranking study, legal review, or competitive analysis. It is designed to find visible mistakes and decide what deserves deeper investigation.
The 30-minute sequence
Minutes 0–5 — customer path: open the business profile, website, and primary enquiry or booking route on a phone. Check that a customer can understand what the business offers and how to contact it.
Minutes 5–10 — core facts: compare name, address or service area, phone, website, regular hours, and upcoming special hours against the current source of truth.
Minutes 10–15 — review queue: inspect new reviews and identify any serious or unanswered issue requiring an owner. Do not promise that every review can be removed.
Minutes 15–20 — content and offer validity: look for expired offers, incorrect dates, stale pinned messages, and links that lead to the wrong destination.
Minutes 20–25 — reporting and tasks: review the selected reporting period and identify one meaningful change or uncertainty. Record any metric definition or data delay that affects interpretation.
Minutes 25–30 — triage: classify findings as critical, due this week, or planned. Assign one owner and deadline for each critical issue.
Audit record
| Finding | Evidence | Risk | Owner | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Booking link opens an old page | Tested on mobile | Critical if bookings cannot be made | Web owner | Today |
| Last month’s offer still pinned | Public page checked | Major | Marketing owner | Today |
| Photo set could be refreshed | Profile checked | Planned | Content owner | Next review |
Examples are hypothetical.
What this audit cannot tell you
A quick manual check does not establish search ranking causes, keyword demand, revenue attribution, or competitor strategy. Those questions require different evidence and more time. Do not label a profile “SEO healthy” simply because the checklist passed.
Escalate when
A core fact is wrong, the enquiry route fails, account access is uncertain, a policy notice appears, or a sensitive review needs investigation. The audit should surface these issues, not attempt to solve every one in 30 minutes.
Checklist
- Mobile customer path tested
- Core facts compared with approved source
- New reviews and urgent issues triaged
- Expired content and broken links checked
- Findings assigned with deadlines
Next step
Keep the audit results month to month. Repeated failures indicate a process or ownership problem, not merely a need to repeat the same checklist harder.
